Almost no Australian pest control company publishes prices. The standard practice is to make you ring, take your details, and give you a number once somebody has decided how much you seem willing to pay.
We think that's a poor way to treat people, so here are actual ranges. They're ranges rather than fixed prices because a two bedroom unit in Aitkenvale and a high set Queenslander on a half acre in Hyde Park are not the same job, but they'll tell you within a reasonable margin what to expect.
Every figure on this page is a starting price. Actual jobs vary with property size, access and what we find on site, and every quote is confirmed in writing before we start. Prices below are current as of 2026 and subject to change without notice.
Our standard callout pricing
These are JJM's current published rates for the jobs we're asked about most.

Most Townsville homes book the general pest treatment annually, ideally in the weeks before the wet season. Booking a termite inspection at the same time is the most common combination, which is why it's priced as a bundle.
Programmes and multi-visit treatments
Some pests need more than one visit to actually resolve, so these are priced as a programme rather than a single callout.

Termite barriers and larger termite protection
This is where the numbers scale up and the variation between properties is greatest, since it covers both routine termite inspections to Australian Standard and full termite treatment in Townsville where activity is found.

These figures are general indicative ranges rather than JJM's published rate card, since barrier and baiting jobs vary enormously with property size, construction and access. They are current as a guide only and subject to change. Other services
Bird proofing and fumigation are quoted per job because both depend entirely on the specifics, linear metres and roof access for bird proofing, and commodity and consignment size for fumigation.
Commercial servicing
Priced on floor area, sector, risk profile, number of monitoring points and service frequency, and generally structured as an annual programme rather than per visit. Site assessment first, then a written programme and price. See our commercial pest control page.
What changes the price
▪ Property size, and more specifically external perimeter rather than floor area.
▪ Construction type and access. A high set home with a walkable subfloor is quicker than a low set slab with a 400 millimetre crawl space.
▪ Hard surfaces. Every metre of concrete abutting the house that has to be drilled for a barrier adds time.
▪ Severity. An established infestation takes longer than a preventive treatment.
▪ Outbuildings, decks, fences and retaining walls, all of which fall within scope for termite work.
▪ Product selection. Longer lasting actives cost more and last longer, which is usually the better value.
What we don't charge for
No call out fee for quoting. No charge for a return visit within the warranty period on a general treatment. No surcharge for the Northern Beaches or the southern suburbs. Magnetic Island attracts a travel component because of the ferry, and we'll tell you before you book.
Why the cheapest quote usually costs more
The economics of a $99 termite inspection don't work. A thorough inspection of an average Townsville home takes sixty to ninety minutes on site plus report writing, and $99 doesn't cover the technician, let alone insurance, licensing and vehicle.
What that money buys is a fifteen minute walk around, no subfloor entry, no roof void access, no sounding of timbers and a report designed to sell a treatment. It isn't a cheap inspection. It's an incomplete one, and incomplete buys you false confidence for twelve months, which in a city with year round termite activity is genuinely expensive.
The same applies to general treatments. A cheap job with an underdosed product and no warranty is a job you pay for twice.

Do you charge a call out fee?
Not for quoting. We come and look at termite jobs at no charge, and most general pest work can be quoted over the phone once you describe what you are seeing. All prices we quote are starting prices, subject to change, and confirmed in writing before we start.
Is there a warranty on your treatments?
Most general pest treatments carry a twelve month warranty, meaning if the target pests return within the period we return at no charge. Termite barriers carry product specific warranties with conditions, including a requirement for annual inspection.
Why is termite work so much more expensive than a general treatment?
Because it is a fundamentally different job. A general treatment is a residual application taking an hour or two. A termite barrier involves trenching and drilling the full perimeter, considerable quantities of product, and protection measured in years rather than months.
Do you offer payment plans?
Talk to us. For larger termite jobs we can generally work something out, particularly where the alternative is deferring the work and letting the damage continue.
Is a cheaper quote from another company worth taking?
Compare what is actually included rather than the number. For termite inspections, ask whether the subfloor and roof void will be entered, whether timbers will be sounded and whether you get a written report to AS 3660.2. Those three questions usually explain the price difference.
